Punjab to launch local production of solar panels with Chinese Companies

Punjab Minister of Industry and Commerce, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain , has announced a significant initiative to start local manufacturing of solar panels. The provincial government is partnering with Chinese companies to establish solar panel factories in Punjab. This move aims to boost the local solar energy sector, reduce import dependence, and create job opportunities.

During a meeting with a delegation from a Chinese solar company, Minister Chaudhry Shafay Hussain  discussed plans to set up these factories. He emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting these companies and creating a favorable investment environment. Chinese companies are eager to invest in Punjab’s solar energy sector, and the government plans to develop a long-term policy to encourage this investment. Now is considered an optimal time to invest due to the favorable conditions and proactive government approach.
